Employment Verification

Employment verifications on current TAMU employees are processed in Payroll Services upon receipt of a completed Request for Employment Verification form, which may be submitted by the payroll contact or the employee. The request must be signed by the employee. Verification requests on former TAMU employees are also processed by Payroll Services. Requests are logged in by date received in Payroll and processed on a first-in, first-out basis with a turn around time of approximately 30 days.

The Previous State Employment Verification Request form was developed for the convenience of current TAMU employees who have accumulated prior state service through previous employment with other universities and/or agencies of the State of Texas. It is the responsibility of individual employees to request that their employment information be provided to their employing department/unit at TAMU by each former state employer. As indicated on this request form, an individual authorized to certify employment on behalf of that specific agency must provide the verification on agency letterhead or standard form and send it directly to the employing department at TAMU. Upon receipt, the employing department should forward a copy of the certification of prior state service to Payroll Services. In accordance with TAMU System Regulation, 31.01.04, Longevity and Hazardous Duty Pay, Section 6.2, documentation of previous state employment should be retained in the employee's official personnel file.
